Performance Cruising Woven Headsails
Ultimate durability, and maximum range and versatility in a reefable sail are the design criteria. Though overall structure can be tailored to any wind range, fabric weight is typically heavier than for a single-purpose sail. Extended corner structure in head and tack and oversized reinforcements are specifically engineered for the rigors of partial furling. Optional tapered foam or rope built into the luff improves reefability. Protection of the furled sail against UV light is provided by either traditional acrylic or white UV Dacron®. The finest, lowest stretch woven polyester materials are used to insure durability and exceptional shapeholding. Shaping is also custom tailored to expected usage, but usually features flatter overall sections with a very straight exit for good upwind and high wind performance. A round, "knuckled" aerydynamic entry provides a wide steering groove. Total shaping is designed to improve partially furled performance. Sails include spreader patches, leech and foot lines, telltales, reef reduction marks, draft stripes, and sail bag |
