Quantum Sails QueenslandQuantum Sails Queensland are situated in the middle of the two major marinas and minutes from both the Runaway Bay and Southport Yacht Clubs. We have a pick up and delivery service to all major marinas and yacht clubs, with a prompt turn around on repairs.

The Loft boasts a great success in all areas of sailing over the years including victories in Sydney to Southport, Brisbane to Gladstone, Hamilton Island Race Week, Hogsbreath Race Week and at National and State levels.

We are very proud of our multihull success from our racing multihulls through to our production cruisers. Whether you have dinghy or a maxi yacht or an off the beach catamaran, we can service your needs. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship from design through to fitting the sail(s).


Rob White – Partner

Rob WhiteRob started sailing at the age of five years old in and around Auckland. He started a sailmaking apprenticeship in 1973 and has represented New Zealand overseas in World Championships.

In 1979 Rob moved to Sydney Australia and took up a leading position at a Major International Loft until 1987 in which time he finished six Sydney to Hobarts, two Southern Cross Cups (winning one), five Sydney to Mooloolabas and represented Australia at the Pan Am Clipper Cup in Hawaii in 1983.

Rob then started his own Sail Loft on the Gold Coast, Queensland late in 1987 and has been there since. In 2002 Rob joined the Quantum Sailmaking Group. He sails regularly at all major sailing regattas on the Queensland Coast and has owned several yachts. Rob has now been sailmaking for 33 years and is being joined by Graham Sherring as full partner.


Graham Sherring – Partner

Graham SherringGraham has been with the Loft for 15 years and has recently become a partner. In this time he has had success in national and state levels in classes such as moths, ns14 and 14ft skiffs. It was at this time that he was nominated for the MLC sporting scholarship. He has also competed in match racing regattas, home and abroad, with great results. Graham has competed in several Brisbane to Gladstone and Sydney to Southport races.

Over more recent times, Graham was a part of the winning crew in the Blazer one design championships and has also won this regatta twice before with his own crew. Graham was a part of the Grainger 41 Flat Chat record breaking run in the Surf to City race. While Graham is in charge of production and quality control of the Loft, he also maintains a front line approach with clients.
